For just the second time in the history of the NCAA Division I women's basketball tournament, there will be two Black head coaches in the Final Four: - Dawn Staley -- South Carolina - Kenny Brooks -- Virginia Tech #MarchMadness #WFinalFour
For context: The NCAA tournament existed for 39 years before Dawn Staley and Adia Barnes made history in 2021 as the first two Black head coaches in a women's Final Four. The second instance occurred just two years later. This new era for Black head coaches is different.
@seanahurd I hope the racist coach loses.
@seanahurd This is true, but also the least important part of who they are. The MOST important aspect of these coaches (all 4 of them) is that they are great at their job. That’s what we want - greatness. Not greatness of a certain color - just… greatness
@seanahurd They are both phenomenal head coaches.
@seanahurd OMG what is America going to do... there are no white male coaches in the NCAA women Final Four.
@seanahurd Plot twist: we are not white or black, there is only one race and we are just different shades of brown 😱😱
@seanahurd @undisputed …. Some content for you all today 🤷🏽♀️
