The Roys Report ran at least TWENTY biased stories from Religion News Service about Jennifer Lyell, and Roys personally promoted them. So yes, I do think it’s fine to say she was prominent in promoting false narratives about Lyell’s abuse claims in the SBC.

@megbasham @RNS All these stories are reprints. Every single one. I rarely assign reporters to cover SBC b/c we don’t hv bandwidth. You said I played prominent role in promoting Lyell narrative. That’s giving me way too much credit. Almost all these stories are Bob’s. But you’re not after Bob.

That’s according to her. And her other claims were that she never ever wanted any sort of romantic involvement with him, and he forced himself on her. Obviously, that part has been belied by her own emails. So you are saying we still have to trust other parts of her allegations even though the bulk of her story has now been disapproved?

To be clear, Julie, as editor in chief of the Roys Report, chose to reprint a grossly biased story regarding Jennifer Lyell’ s abuse claims. And please note, Julie says she STILL believes them despite the fact that we now have emails clearly indicating that the relationship was consensual. So again, as I said, you need to remember that when you read her reporting about these issues. She is not objective, she is an activist. And that is why she must still declare that she believes Lyell’s claims despite evidence undercutting them. She doesn’t follow where the evidence leads on this issue.

To be clear, I believe Jennifer Lyell's claims of abuse. But it's laughable that @megbasham posted an @RNS article by an RNS reporter that we merely reprinted as proof I'm "an activist on this issue." All this shows are the lengths Megan will go to attack ppl she dislikes.
