Martin Lewis has quite a speech here lamenting how the BBC relegated consumer journalism to a section in The One Show, when such issues affect millions of lives
@scottygb Too often in the recent years, the BBC has (mis)judged its role as providing some kind of comfort blanket. I think Martin Lewis is right that the public have an appetite for more programmes that don’t talk down to viewers and tackle the hard realities of the current economy.
@scottygb You have helped me a lot over the years, keep up the good work and, agreed, we need more competition in this field. 👊🏻
@scottygb It's great what he's doing. But if there are any business owners in the chat underneath. NOTHING About what he talks about has any direct effect or correlation to business markets or matters.
@scottygb Well it’s OBVIOUSLY what happens when you have a Tory shrill, running the company. The BBC don’t want to upset the boy’s club!
@scottygb Watchdog was proper public service broadcasting although it did suffer taking on board Rogue Traders and be honest,Matt Alwright did ham up a bit on there.
@scottygb But you know that the BBC has a far reach of consumer journalism across radio,TV and online. Instead of just one programme like MSE, the BBC reaches many millions.
@scottygb His programmes are depressive and brings more stress than help If he was just help great …not worthy of a whole hour programme tho ffs He’s also ott ,trying to get people to save 50p here and there
@scottygb Conveniently forgetting to that he has a regular slot on radio 5 & other bbc journalists such as @collettasmith cover these issues regularly
