Anyone know a HCP in Bristol that can treat facet joint pain? Been advised by a pain specialist (in NZ) that I should have a massage/acupuncture. Really want to see someone soon if I can, had pain for quite a while now. Disturbs my sleep so have to try and get some meds too.

Just watched a presentation on EMDR. I knew a little about it but have a deeper understanding now. Very interested in trying it. Is it becoming more recognised to treat chronic pain does anyone know? Has anyone had a positive experience with it?

Think I have a hamstring injury - a tear at the ischial tuberosity? Symptoms came on slowly but very painful to the touch when feeling around my sit bone. & pain when lifting leg to walk up steps. Should I get checked out or rest & recover?

Optimism can be a useful ally if you've been in pain or related symptoms for a long time. So long as you've been in pain for 6+ months and been checked out by a Physician, and they've cleared you of anything physical, then you're likely experiencing neuroplastic pain. #optimism

I'm putting this out there because I want to support and see #PatientEngagement efforts make change. But I'm hearing of and seeing efforts that are far from ideal, and are in fact tokenistic. Small things can mean big differences for #PatientPartners - pls think about them. /end
For overall collaboration, that means: -being respectful vs. extractive about their experiences and stories -circling back to share with them how their input, insights, and experiences shaped a project, mtg, etc. -bringing a trauma-informed lens to engaging. /3
That means asking them what works best for them and their situation, and doing your best to accommodate that. For mtgs, maybe that's: -during days/hours that aren't M-F/9-5 -virtual instead of in person or masking if that helps them feel safe ->1 mtg -something else. /2

@JoshuaWPate I deconditioned the vast majority of my trigeminal neuralgia triggers using graded exposure, safety talk & positive reinforcement (instant like I was a dog) it worked beautifully. I used to be in excruciating pain in a slight wind. Now I can cycle in the wind & rain.
