Obviously male rape victims should be taken seriously but I want to know where the idea that female rape victims have an easier time being believed or are generally treated better by society comes from
@sasufag It’s not a male or female thing Sex crimes in general regardless of gender or age aren’t taken seriously equally on all levels NYPD in particular is a decade behind on rape kits for gay men, straight women, all people all sizes shapes and colors The law system doesn’t care 🤦🏾♂️
@sasufag i think "male victims are treated worse than female victims" is an incorrect framing and "female rapists arent considered as guilty as male rapists" is more accurate because when the rape is perpetrated by men then the reaction is usually similar.
@sasufag Yeah tbh the only people that seem to have a hard time believing me are other men
@sasufag The male victims are also nearly always raped by men they’re really just grasping at straws by even bringing it up
@sasufag Imma just leave this here x.com/jerry7_7_7_7w/…

it’s usually just a straw man to shut down female victims whenever one of them comes out with their experience, the topic of male victims is rarely ever brought up organically which is a shame because of course they need a voice also, but they’re only mentioned in bad faith arguments
@sasufag How about the definition of rape the federal government uses doesn't actually allow male victims of women to be counted in statistics. Let's just start there.
