Traffic in and around the bridge is cut off.. which is obvious.. but there are warning signs directing you away from the bridge for miles away.
My colleague @JulesJester spoke with a group of people gathered at a Royal Farms store near the entrance of the bridge. They say their family members were part of a group of workers on the bridge at the time of the collapse. They have no idea what their status is.
@JulesJester The family members came to the store because it was as close as they could get to the scene.. but they have not been given an idea of the status of their loved ones
@JulesJester The number of victims is a “dynamic” according to the fire chief… meaning they have no idea how many people could be impacted. So far two people were rescued from the water.
@JulesJester As the sun starts to rise, we are now getting our first glimpse of the bridge. You can see in the distance in this picture part of the span knocked over. In fact, that arrow in the picture is pointing right at the remnants of the bridge.
@JulesJester Another view.. you can see the ramp to the bridge.. a very eerie sight to be honest.
@JulesJester This aerial photo gives an incredible sense of the scale of this massive accident.
@JulesJester We have an @NBCNews liveblog constantly updating with the latest information on the Baltimore Bridge collapse: nbcnews.com/news/us-news/m…
RIGHT NOW: Maryland Gov. Wes Moore gives an update on the Key Bridge collapse. “we haven’t seen evidence of a terrorist attack.” he calls it a “terrible accident.”
