@blaugranaana Maybe it's different elsewhere but it's pretty standard in the US to say when someone will be officially eliminated vs when they won't be, even if it is that fraction of a percent of a chance scenario. Might be a cultural thing?

@blaugranaana @mellowhale If Curaçao lost today but then won against Ivory Coast by a score of 15-0 (not realistic, I know, but that is technically possible) and Ecuador loses to Germany, they're even in the head to head, with 3 points, but Curaçao has the best goal differential of the three then

@blaugranaana @mellowhale I don't know these teams enough to give an opinion, I'm just explaining the math! If Ecuador had lost tonight they're mathematically eliminated, Curaçao is not even if Curaçao has a .01% probability. They also tied so it doesn't actually matter haha

@mellowhale Ecuador's remaining match is against Germany, Curaçao's is against Ivory Coast. If Ecuador loses, their best record is 1-1-1. They lose the head to head tie breakers due to having lost to Curaçao and IC. If Curaçao loses but beats IC next, the tie breakers go to goal differential
