@Upgradez @Havoc_Six My understanding is they're easier to destroy. SPGs put all their ammunition and fuel inside a convenient box next to the gun & crew. So if you detonate inside it, the whole thing goes kablam. Towed arty keeps ammo a safe-ish distance away and crew can scatter.
@Blueelectron4 @Upgradez @Havoc_Six This. The towed was being damaged, but these flying grenades don’t often completely destroy a towed. An SPG can easily be disabled, ammunition ignited, have to be abandoned at greater cost, stick out like a sore thumb.
