** NEW UMPIRE AUDITOR RECORD ** Umpire Angel Hernandez rang up Wyatt Langford on three consecutive pitches out of the zone. The strikeout pitch missed outside by 6.78 inches. This was the largest miss on a called strikeout in Umpire Auditor history.
TRY THIS. Slow Mo it. I was ready to jump on this due influence of the announcers and the computers but Try this. Hernandez angle is to the left of catcher... The ball crosses plate. Is Thrown exceedingly well with movement. Plus Framed Amazingly by catcher. Not flagrant at all
@AndrewBoydMusic @UmpireAuditor A ball that far outside the zone is because of the frame and where the ump was positioned? Those are just lame excuses. The catcher’s arm moved an entire foot bringing it back to the plate.
i said 1.its good framing.. yes. Thats what a good catcher does. 2. the end zone of this type of pitch computer shot is not where it crosses plate. 3. Angel is set off to the left a bit so I can see his angle of vision is a factor as well.. ball crosses in across his view. 4. I actually think they are all balls, reread that. however these calls are NOT as bad as the announcers and vilify tribe are making it. Do the work... pause the play back and follow the pitches. The ball movement is very good. Not a fan of AH but dudes getting blasted for this and it is not as bad as it is being made out to be.
@AndrewBoydMusic @Daniel_Penrod11 @UmpireAuditor Andrew, your argument is completely valid...if you're talking about a rookie ump or someone early in their career. AH is one of the most experienced, veteran umps in MLB. Stop making excuses for him, he lost all benefit of the doubt long ago.
