Tragic. Something has to change. independent.co.uk/news/uk/ofsted…
@rob_kelsall My father was never the same after a poor @Ofstednews report - the irony being that later that year he got record best exam results. But we got a broken father, depressed and distant. 20 years later we still feel the effects. A cruel system that offers no support to teachers.
@rob_kelsall It is a pity that something like this has to happen to prompt change....
@rob_kelsall Its not fair to blame the offsted report for this. This lady was obviously fragile and suffering with mental health. That was the issue. We can not have a culture where people can not be questioned or criticised. What do you want to happen - offsted to stop rating bad schools ?
@rob_kelsall Yes, the selection process for the headship at this school seems to have been totally inadequate.
@rob_kelsall Scandalous. Teachers are far too constrained, in teaching methods and programmes, by syllabuses set by academics, politicians and administrators. Ofsted is dehumanising the teaching role by measuring against meaningless benchmarks.
@rob_kelsall More needs to be said about the broken inspectorate system that can completely ruin good people’s lives.I’d rather my child be happy and go to a school that requires improvement than and outstanding school that piles pressure on kids to maintain that rating
@rob_kelsall There have been many many headteacher colleague deaths, caused by stress directly or indirectly linked to the inspection process. I would like to know the proportion of in service deaths of HTs in comparison to other professionals, such as doctors or dentists for example.
@rob_kelsall Absolutely disgusting....... they've negatively impacted the education system from the minute they were formed
