@afoolghost Did not take birth control until after second child and the shame I felt in the beginning was intense. 4.5 years later, it's prob the best decision I've ever made for mine and my family's health.
@afoolghost Had period-related anemia (too much blood/iron loss) at 13, went to the ER from almost fainting. Doc wanted to prescribe the pill, Dad refused. Took iron supplements instead, learned that the pill was for sinful girls. Anemia went away; heavy periods and painful cramps did not.
