The systematic destruction of public education — decades in the making. Private school vouchers started as a way to stop integration. If we pass this bill, it will deepen the divisions in SC. I’m not against private schools, but public money should stay in public schools.
@reprussellott People should have choices when selecting schools. People of all races are at the whim of a bunch of popularity contest winners on school boards and their mapping of school districts about where they can send their kids to school. The government school system is failing.
@reprussellott @GCobbHunter Tell It @reprussellott, Its just a "crying shame", Governor McMaster and his crew are so out of touch with the everyday person's struggle in South Carolina We need more people to run against that CLIQUE, TIME FOR THEM TO GO 👉 🏠
@reprussellott @nssottile Yes they should. This is absolutely ridiculous that if folks want to send their kids to private schools, they should pay for it out of their own pocket. I thought the Republican Party was all about accountability and not spending taxpayer dollars?
@reprussellott Not only that but it will sink our state financially. Maybe they should look at states who are struggling to fund the voucher bill they passed and the nightmare they are now in.
@reprussellott We have an even better third option that isn't being explored enough: proper homeschooling. It solves many of these problems while ensuring that quality education, critical-thinking skills, strong familial and traditional values all align for a better future for our children.
