Yes he should have had the stomach to do a ground invasion if the initial air/naval campaign was unsuccessful. I am not a fan of Iran and I do think this is a shit deal. The problem is, and always was from the beginning, Israel being involved. If this whole disaster ends with Israel being cut off America's tits I consider this a huge win.

Iran has made it 100% clear they want a cease fire, in addition to the full withdraw of Israel from their positions inside Lebanon; neither of which has happened. They have been saying this for months, and their position has never changed. USA just promised we could make that happen in the MOU, and failed.

I agree and given events happening in real time right now you are undeniably correct. The problem is, USA included this as a condition of the MOU. We promised Iran we could make the Lebanon War stop, and we didn't. We really shot ourself in the foot with this one but it is also an indicator imo how desperate Trump actually is to end this conflict

Well you might not realize I agree partly with your sentiment. I do think we were SERIOUSLY misled on the nature of this uprising, and the idea that Iran wanted USA and Israel to come in and save them is such a wild fantasy I can't believe anyone at all ever bought into it. Iran was having an extremely serious water crisis. When the government can't provide basic services such as water which you die without in only a few days, people tend to get mad and take to the streets.

It's not implied, which is why I posted 3 links sources from IRAN that over 3000 people were killed in protests last February. Whatever number they've released is surely low, the actual number we will not know until more data comes out. Humanitarian organizations are estimating 20-40k. So Iranian government killed somewhere between 2500-40k people over civil unrest last February. I'm not sure what part of the world you are from, but killing thousands of protestors qualifies as a terror state in my book.
