Seems like much fretting over Yoshida... but I think he'll be fine. His 4 best hit balls have been deep outs. Walks 6% → 9%. Strikeouts 14% → 13%. Ground balls still high, but 55% → 53%. Chase rate 26% → 16%. xwOBA .325 → .342. I'd say let this play out, he'll get hot.
@redsoxstats Do you think wilyer Abreu should be getting more playing time?
@redsoxstats He barreled up two balls almost to the warning track in back to back at-bats vs LAA. Let’s hope those start to find green.
@redsoxstats Encouraging with the chase rate but we've learned that he's a guy with two swings, a damage swing with a ton of swing and miss and a contact swing with zero damage, and it feels ugly
@redsoxstats I rarely disagree with you because you have far more expertise and I was happy sox signed him after watching him rake in Japan; but his second half decline last season was explained as his growing fatigue but he isn't tired now. It appears that good MLB pitchers have found how to
@redsoxstats that ball he hit last night just died. When the weather gets better those are doubles or homeruns at fenway
@redsoxstats agree, find it kind of sad how little faith some have in the guy. it’s been that way since he got here.
@redsoxstats Yeah not worried about him at all. At least not yet. No reason to be.
@redsoxstats “slow start” was like, a major calling card for him annually in the NPB. not worried
@redsoxstats He did this last year he’ll be fine. Just frustrating with all the roll overs as he did last year.
@redsoxstats People act like they forgot about Macho Man!
