@steipete @boxmining @openclaw Says: npm codex-acp is a stripped down binary without app-server subcommand. Openclaw resolves codex to the npm package’s binary first, but should default to the Cask binary which has the app-server subcommand.

@steipete @boxmining @openclaw macos. Rewired it to use my codex install (via brew) instead of the packaged binary, now it works. Issue seems to be an argument ‘app-server’ the binary allegedly doesn’t have.

@AishwaryaDevv Openclaw is basically a wrapper for pi so you have additional options for execs on your machine and UI manipulation. You can do all of that yourself, yes, but for most people it’s more convenient to use something that already can remote-control apps (including an android phone)

@DanielSmidstrup Opus may be good, but you can hardly write a Hallo World without it charging 1,000 bucks; and subscription is practically useless now since claude -p has been pushed to API billing. Codex, on the other hand, can actually be used and integrated into workflows.

@SaraDiscovers Because they don’t allow to use your Claude subscription outside of chat anymore, and that defeats the purpose. If I can’t use it to run an agent that does something for me, then all that remains is use it as a smarter search engine - and that’s not worth what they’re charging

@ravikiran_dev7 I don’t use Windows since 98 ate a novel manuscript. But in comparison to a generic laptop, I do like the longevity of Macs. They easily run 8 to 10 years.
