According to @abacusdata, only 1% of Conservative Party of Canada voters think immigration should be higher. Yet, today, the head of immigration for the Conservative Party of Canada leaves the door open to higher immigration. ''If it’s higher, it’s higher.” Ask yourself, why?

@realChrisBrunet @abacusdata heh "Kmiec feels policies that don’t allow skilled workers like doctors and nurses who come to work in Canada are the reason for our strained healthcare system." Canadian conservatives also in denial at how shitty/uncompetitive their state-run healthcare is
@realChrisBrunet @Dave8988 @abacusdata I don’t understand higher, higher; lower, lower.

If they campaign on tightening immigration there will be a firestorm of accusations of racism. They are probably more terrified of this than they should be based on the actual sentiments of Canadians, but it’s not in the national character for a politician to rock the boat and take a risk like this.
@realChrisBrunet @abacusdata Even Bill Maher was dunking on Canadian mass immigration last night.
@realChrisBrunet @abacusdata Isn’t it illegal to criticize immigration in your country tho ?
@realChrisBrunet @epkaufm @abacusdata 500,000 doesn't include "temporary" residents. The true number for 2023 was 1.3 million.
