@razibkhan I'm not sure I understand your argument. School quality is a reflection of the quality of the students. If every family in Silicon Valley moved to Austin, then it would have the "best" schools in the country overnight.
@razibkhan I can’t think of many women that would want to move to a state that would potentially put their health and life in jeopardy if they decided to try for a kid
@razibkhan There is no fix to the weather in Austin. And unlike SF a few hours in the car get you nowhere nice for a weekend. Hill Country for all its charms is still too hot in the summer. Eliminating outdoor activities for six months of the year is no bueno.
@razibkhan I think SF leaves a lot of room to compete due to misgovernance but it has natural beauty, big tech money, etc that is hard to beat School choice will be great for Austin as well, there's a lot of people building the next paradigm of K-12
@razibkhan Given how poorly Berkeley is managed, that might happen eventually. UT needs to keep building on the research end to eventually attract elite international grad students.
