🚨#BREAKING: Up to 20 people were on the Francis Scott Key Bridge in Baltimore at the time of the collapse. The cargo ship has a breach in the hull, causing it to list to one side, with reports of a strong smell of diesel fuel
🚨#UPDATE: Roughly about 11.5 million vehicles use the Key Bridge annually
@rawsalerts Praying for those people affected and their family 🙏
@rawsalerts As if the Chesapeake bay wasn’t polluted enough already
@rawsalerts The person driving the boat was unaware of the height of the load and bridge? 🧐
@rawsalerts Waiting for the MAGA trolls to turn a tragedy into a conspiracy theory. 🥲
If there was a breach, the US COAST GUARD would've been deployed and, at least, on the scene to mitigate. No way it had a "sudden breach" right at the bridge. A Captain will know in advance if systems are failing. I look forward to the full story but as of now, it seems implausible.
@rawsalerts When I travel I drive and go around cities. It takes longer but is probably safer and helps rural economies.
@rawsalerts This is so terrifying. A part of Baltimore gone. Multiple lives lost. I feel terrible for what those people experienced.
@rawsalerts I hope the Coast Guard were already en route to assist the ship, if not this will be less of a rescue and more of a recovery effort.
