From Facebook: “A professor gave a balloon to every student, who had to inflate it, write their name on it and throw it in the hallway. After the professor mixed all the balloons up, the students were given 5 minutes to find their own balloon. Despite a hectic search, no one found their balloon. At that point, the professor told the students to pick up a balloon and hand it to the person whose name was written on it. Within 5 minutes, everyone had their own balloon. The professor said to the students: "These balloons are like happiness. We will never find it if everyone is just looking for their own. But if we care about other people's happiness, we'll find ours too."- Unknown
@raduede Happiness is beautiful
Bunk. 1) That is not a picture of a hallway hundreds of people "threw" their balloon into. 2) Counting the balloons across the bottom of the picture and the rows to the other end of the hall yields well over 300 balloons. 3) While the second "happiness" strategy is superior to the first, you believe it produced hits at more than 1 per second? When did that clock start? After the hundreds of students each got someone else's balloon? 4) You believe that a class contains hundreds of students who know each other's names to deliver at the pace identified in item 3? 5) IMO, if the "story" is even true, it would be superior with the fallacies removed. Show the real hall, real balloons, real students and the real numbers, the real times ... a small number found their balloon (not zero) but the next day in class, it was obvious that strategy 2 had ripple effects... because some different students were sitting together.. who probably never would've met. Happiness can be a force multiplier when it's contagious and its effects ripple. 6) Fallacy is public enemy number one.
@raduede This....most positive energy is through charity for others.

@raduede This is a lot like the John Nash paper. The best results happen when we think of ourselves, AND we think of the group, too. Yaaay!
