Reading this, it's funny that extremists on both sides make the same ill-formulated argument that (neo-)liberalism leads to the particular extremism of which they disapprove.
For modern rightists, liberalism erodes our values and destroys culture, for leftists it birthed nazism.
@_AashishReddy Generally 78 is pretty bad, which is a terrible equilibrium.
Ofc it depends on the discipline/department, but for the most part grades are fake.
Your first sentence is incorrect.
> “In countries where 11-year-olds have fewer same-gender friends, women are less likely to major in STEM.”
fewer same-gender friends => more opposite-gender friends (in terms of shares)
Per the figure, the above phenomena are positively related to female entrance into STEM.
I don't believe there's any way to interpret this as anything other than the (false) assertion that human remains were discovered. But when two BC lawyers proposed to amend the statement to the following...
Thank goodness this is not being done in a democratic way. Nobody without skin in the game should have any say over what’s done with rural land.
People like this, who literally know nothing, want to advise the coercive direction of capital/resources. Stupid and immoral.
Listen to this. A masterclass in awful epistemics.
> “You’re now suggesting that Andy Masley is receiving funding from big AI and he should not be trusted. Do you have other evidence? Do you have evidence that he’s wrong?”
> *Mentions a UK report that revised their carbon emission estimates up by 100x*…. “I think that ultimately the numbers can be a distraction because what people are justifiably mad about is that none of this is happening in a democratic way.”
First, my opponent is wrong bc *stupid cynical theory of information*, then maybe he’s right but it doesn’t matter because muh creative destruction, muh slopulism.
