The global domain market holds more than 390 million registered names and is valued at over $360 billion, with billions generated in sales every year. Despite this scale, it has remained almost entirely illiquid on-chain. Until now. Doma is introducing Domain Asset Vehicles (DAVs), a new structure that packages institutional domain portfolios into single, tradable tokens on Solana. When domains inside a portfolio are sold, the actual proceeds flow automatically to token holders. There are no intermediaries and no lock-up periods. In the same way real estate has REITs and equities have ETFs, domains now have DAVs - purpose-built for Solana’s speed, low fees, and DeFi ecosystem. First presented at Dominion ’26, the product is now moving onto Solana, bringing one of the internet’s oldest asset classes into liquid on-chain capital markets. @domaprotocol

What happens when you can sell part of a domain instead of the whole thing? In this Domainer Den + Doma webinar they walked through the full process: • Why tokenization changes the economics for domain owners • Exact steps to bring a domain on-chain • How fractional ownership is structured (and what rights token holders actually get) • A live domain launch from zero to trading • First-hand experience from a domainer who has already launched multiple names Key mechanics shown: The domain stays fully functional on the regular internet. Owner locks it in the protocol, creates tokens that represent ownership shares, and can sell a portion (commonly 10-20%) through a bonding curve. Capital is unlocked immediately. Majority control and DNS rights stay with the original owner. When the domain is eventually sold, token holders receive their proportional payout - this is enforced by the smart contract. Results so far with roughly 600 domains: more than $200 million traded and 55,000 new participants in the market.
