So @MTNNG did something cool. Launched a data center. It's huge for Nigeria and MTN and while everyone is hooked on the data news. My power mind is here trying to figure out how the facility will be powered. 4.5MW plant is a whole lot and it's still going to be expanded.

For context 4.5MW is about 9-500kVA transformers. 1-500kVA transformer can feed about 142 homes (assuming 3.5kVA demand (simpler terms: 142-typical 3 bed apartments with ACs and all)). So this MTN facility is consuming what approximately 1,278 homes will consume.

What energy mix is in play? Is there a grid element to it? Is that more carbon foot print or they went green on it? I would even love to see the energy mix and function that is in play. Just an FYI, Data centers are predicted to be one of the major consumers in the nearest future
