SEPTA's Market-Frankford Line shall now be known as the L. No, not the El. The L. You can read about that and SO many more SEPTA changes here. phillymag.com/news/2023/11/3…
@phillymag Who cares! I wouldn’t recommend anyone catch it without a weapon an a vest!
@phillymag This is a positive change for SEPTA; updated wayfinding will not only help Philadelphians. It will help our guests who will be coming for America's 250 Birthday, the FIFA World Cup, and the All-Star Game in 2026.
@phillymag @JGitto It will always be the El! This isn't NYC. There's only one El, one "subway" (unless you count Ridge spur), one PATCO & one Norristown High Speed line. Two trolleys out of 69th St, 5 subway-surface lines & Regional Rail. The last thing we need is a confusing letter code system.
@phillymag Changing the long-held names of transit lines is really confusing. You'd think Septa would have learned better after changing the names of the regional rail lines. People are still more comfortable referring to regional rail lines by their numbers.
@phillymag I will never stop calling it the El
@phillymag @wthobart I think the redesign is cool. I like the Graphic Design a lot, and sticking with the existing color-coding with a bit of an update is a good move. Way-finding is a bit of a mess in some of the older stations so hopefully this helps
@phillymag Is the 'L' bus gonna be renamed the 'el' bus ?????
