Yesterday, I passed an amendment that outlaws social media for children under the age of 14; it allows social media for 14 to 15-year-olds with parental consent. Social media has destroyed our young people's mental health. This is a common sense way to keep them safe. #akleg

People who dismiss protests or who never really participated in one themselves don’t understand just how important your first protest experience is. This is a formative political moment for a lot of young people.
Presumably the students at elite universities engaged in prolonged protests over Gaza will later go on to make up a significant part of the U.S. elite. Accordingly in a generation it can be expected U.S.-Israel relationship is unlikely to be as lopsidedly hostile to Palestinians.
