Great discussions and packed rooms at the #CTHB24 Side Events!
The Nexus between Disabilities and Human Trafficking shed light on the vulnerability of persons with #disabilities to #humantrafficking. It emphasized the need for immediate action to tackle these specific challenges, particularly in times of conflicts and crises. The side event, organized in collaboration with the US Department of State @JTIP_State and @ASEAN, also marked the release of two research papers by @osce_cthb and #ASEAN, respectively. These papers aim to strengthen the evidence base, highlight the impact on persons with disabilities, and assess the integration of disability concerns in legal and policy frameworks. #CTHB24 #EndHumanTrafficking #Disability #inclusion
What an enlightening discussion at the Side Event on Addressing the Dynamics of Trafficking in Persons Belonging to Minorities. The conversation focused on the challenges faced by #Minority groups, who are disproportionately vulnerable to #humantrafficking. This #CTHB24 Side Event explored both the existing and possible mechanisms that could empower persons belonging to minorities to mitigate trafficking risks and enhance prevention.
The #CTHB24 Side Event on Child Rights and Global Supply Chains: Understanding the Nexus Between Children's Rights and Human Rights Due Diligence delved deep into the important connection between #children's rights and #HumanRights due diligence in global #supplychains. This event was a joint effort between @UNICEF and us, aligning with our respective mandates, to protect children and incorporate anti-#humantrafficking measures in🌐supply chains.
The joint event with @Hopeforjustice and Intel Corporation® on Private Data Exchange: Leveraging advanced technology to prevent trafficking in human beings was very enlightening! We discussed a collaborative research and development initiative, leveraging Confidential Computing as a powerful tool for the management, processing, and sharing of data and intelligence in the fight against #humantrafficking. The session unpacked the technological challenges to #data sharing, analytics, and collaboration in the global anti-trafficking sector; explored Confidential Computing as an emerging technology for the sharing of sensitive information in contemporary contexts; introduced the Private Data Exchange project, demonstrating the value of using such technology for counter-trafficking purposes; and outlined the future roadmap for collaboration and innovation in global efforts against trafficking.
