Someone in America pays $75 to park their car for one day and gets upset about it. Then somebody comments and converts that $75 to naira and says “see how cheap this is for us.” That one comment right there is why so many people don’t understand money. In America, $75 is less than five hours of work for someone on minimum wage. Clock in, clock out before lunch, and you’ve earned it back. Now take that same $75, convert it to naira, and hand it to somebody working in a restaurant here in Nigeria. That worker is earning about 40k a month. To make $75 in naira terms, they are working almost three months straight. Three months of waking up early, standing on your feet all day, dealing with customers, just to earn what an American makes before lunch break. You cannot take a number, swap the currency symbol, and assume you understand another country’s economy. Minimum wage is not the same thing as an exchange rate. What $75 buys, what it costs somebody to earn it, what it means for a family trying to survive, all of that changes completely once you move the number from one place to another. Next time somebody does that kind of comparison, ask them one question. How many hours does it take to earn that money where you are, versus how many months it takes somebody else. That’s the real comparison. Everything else is just numbers dancing on a screen.

This is not how to make argument. Parking fee in the US is $75 which you can make in a few hours working in the US. Minimum wage in 9ja for a month is N70k. You cannot be charging N50k for overnight parking.
