The thing is even the straight people are using “partner” these days lol

@notcapnamerica It’s used frequently by everyone in the UK and Ireland…
@notcapnamerica Wait, I thought partner was used whenever a couple is together and operate as a married couple but they just aren’t married, regardless of their sexual orientation or identity? Is partner typically only used in the lgbtqia+ community? My bad😬
@notcapnamerica I watch a lot of British shows, and they usually call their significant other 'Partner'. I think it is common in a lot of other countries. But if I heard an American say 'Partner', my first thought would be they were a detective. Haha
@notcapnamerica Ya, because I'm too old to use boyfriend and most of these guys don't want labels for our situationships.
@notcapnamerica A husband or a wife is supposed to be your “partner”
@notcapnamerica in aus pretty much everyone uses partner for their wife/husband
@notcapnamerica They started saying it because they didn’t wanna use the term baby momma or baby daddy
@notcapnamerica What difference does it make how a couple refers to themselves? Is it hurting this dude in some way? People like him are ridiculous
@notcapnamerica For the longest time I thought a female co worker was married to another woman. Until the company holiday party when she introduced us to her partner/husband. In unison we were like “ahhhh nice to meet you” 😂 we got a quick lesson about making assumptions.
@notcapnamerica I’d rather have a partner than an inequitable relationship based on titles.
