Last month, a black man was killed by police in Chicago. It set off a familiar ritual: Activists made angry noises. Tearful family members held press conferences. Protesters took to the streets. But it isn't 2020. Americans aren't going to do this again. spectator.org/there-will-be-…
The simple fact is that the conditions that enabled the Black Lives Matter revolution of 2020 were specific and unique — and while they may have left a legacy that endures to this day, they're unlikely to fully reappear anytime soon. Here's why:
How many of the average 18/year were in control of a motor-vehicle. Recall that a black driver was dragging a police officer after he had been stopped and then took off during a search. He was shot 'accidentally' due to the female police officer intending to use her taser (kind of dumb to even go for the taser in that situation, and was certainly justified in shooting the driver to protect the life of the other officer.) However, because her 'intention' was to draw her taser, the local DA still secured a conviction of murder, and sent the female police officer to prison.

@njhochman Why did you focus just on unarmed black MEN shot by police and not all unarmed black people shot by police? What is the number of number of unarmed white MEN shot by police for comparison?
@njhochman Very nice write-up. George Floyd died of a fentanyl overdose. At some point the officer’s conviction should be vacated.
