I wonder if Linda Reynolds has considered the very real possibility that he chose that location (of her office) in part as a F**K YOU to herself. Stay with me here: Remember, Linda had just called him into that office, dressed him down, humiliated him, & fired him. And why? /
Bc he & another male staffer had been "dobbed in" by a "feminazi" who had been so upset & so uncomfortable with BL's inappropriate advances to the "new girl" who might be joining their office (BH) that "the feminazi" had literally resigned in disgust. But Reynolds had rejected
That resignation. And instead Reynolds had called in BL & the other male colleague & berated them. Now how would a man like Lehrmann take that? Being told off by a female boss? Being humiliated? Policed for his sexual desires? And then being fired? And then imagine he sees
the young woman who he was fired "over" (of course she had no idea of any of that context). Is there not the slightest chance that raping BH in LR's office was not just about being "hell bent" on satisfying his own base urges, but also being hell bent on getting 1 over on Linda?
*apologies as others have pointed out he was given a strong warning at this stage (not fired.... But obviously my point remains the same... This was about power. Resenting Linda's power. Resenting the young woman who "dobbed", resenting the young woman he was attracted to, /
... And then seeing an opportunity for sexual gratification .... Which also came with a side of 'pay back' against all of them. And getting one over on your boss in the same office on her VERY couch, where she had dressed him down (which he would no doubt find emasculinating).
@ninafunnell He was leaving too. Had himself another position in one of the Departments (?) - so it was his parting gift. Probably figured BH would be too intimidated to say anything & if he slipped her a mickey, remember too little for anything to stick.
