The UK chose Brexit, chose the type of Brexit and chose to isolate itself. Nothing to do with us. The path back to Europe is clear, with conditions. UK refuses the obligations that go with community, yet you blame us for their problems @ExtrawurstGroßbritannien
@nialloconghaile Don’t worry. We really don’t want to go back into the EU.
@nialloconghaile "We want to rejoin but the EU will punish us and give us a terrible deal if we ask to rejoin!" "Erhm, no, the EU will give you the same deal it gives to everyone else" "Yes, they will punish us and give us a terrible deal." That is the sentiment of not all, but far too many.
@nialloconghaile Very close to half of those who voted in the referendum did not choose Brexit/isolation. They don't blame Ireland or the EU for the economic damage it has caused. We blame the ever self-serving Conservative Party who agreed the referendum to retain power under threat from UKIP.
@nialloconghaile The UK Govt chose Brexit, the type of Brexit, and isolationism —against the will of the majority of voters. Nobody with any sense blames the EU. Hopefully the tone will change with a new govt, altho' Starmer's pronouncements this side of #GE2024 offer scant comfort. #GE2029?
@nialloconghaile I can’t believe what I’ve just read. Who are these people?
