The German government is considering plans to implement new laws that would ban members of the general public from driving privately owned vehicles during the weekends. The plan was revealed by Germany’s Transport Minister Volker Wissing who argues that the drastic measures may be necessary in order to meet the World Economic Forum’s (WEF) “Net Zero” targets for “fighting climate change.” According to Reuters, Wissing is threatening to introduce the ban through the Summer months before gradually expanding it. The calls come despite the fact that official data shows that “greenhouse emissions” in Germany, Europe’s biggest economy, fell to the lowest level in 70 years in 2023.
I didn't think that the German economy could take any more hits? Essentially closing everything down for the weekends, including grocery shopping? Okay, well, you do you. #Germany Ich hätte nicht gedacht, dass die deutsche Wirtschaft noch weitere Einbußen verkraften könnte? An den Wochenenden praktisch alles schließen, auch den Lebensmitteleinkauf? Okay, nun ja, das tust du.
@newstart_2024 Governments in Germany are controlled by the winners of ww2 since Germany signed "The German Instrument of Surrender", event that took place on 8 May 1945.
@newstart_2024 In Communist Romania, under Ceausescu, the law was that during the weekends, one week only cars with even matriculation numbers could be driven while the next week only the ones with odd matriculation numbers. 50% better than the German "plan".
@newstart_2024 I realy can’t see this happening, but if it does, I’m leaving. Germay is going down the pan.
@newstart_2024 Don’t comply? What’s the worst that will happen if everyone just told them where to go? They wouldn’t have enough police to deal with the amount of people breaking the law if everyone just told them what pier to walk off
@newstart_2024 The people will be forced to make sacrifices while the rich n elites will carry on as normal.
@newstart_2024 Wtf - this is No longer the Germany of the Real German People- they must resist
@newstart_2024 That’s off the table, that was just the stick to push through other plans, happened over the weekend.
@newstart_2024 Everyone should get out and drive all weekend if it is banned.
