Money isn’t how you motivate great people, it’s how you reward great people.
@naval great work and great people are primarily not motivated by money, even if they are, they know the worth of their greatness and how people can’t afford or value them accordingly.
@naval You keep these in the vault or do you come up with them on the go?
@naval great people are rewarded by themselves
@naval Money motivates people only up to a point. if you are doing a job you do not like, the money you earn will not make you happy after a while. Gaining intrinsic motivation will increase commitment. Please try to rise in the points you love
@naval Money serves as recognition of their valuable contributions, not the primary driver for those truly committed to the mission.
@naval You cannot motivate someone with something he knows he can find anywhere
@naval Financial incentives act as motivation though?
@naval Exactly this 👆 The key is to remember that money is a tool, not a goal.
@naval Great people shouldn’t be rewarded They should become partners
@naval Great talent can command a great sum wherever they go. Attaining or keeping them is on their terms.
