Seeing the Rolex 24 without the backstretch chicane is wild (Though unpopular when new, the chicane was added in 1984 because cars would run over debris in the infield and get small punctures, which led to tire blowouts under the strain of entering turn three at full speed)
@nascarman_rr The chicane was built originally in 73 for bikes. Not used for the cars until 84
@nascarman_rr Is that Ken Squirer AND David Hobbs?
@nascarman_rr Lose the chicane and the infield section. IMSA runs way too many road courses, time to get back to their roots of super speedway oval racing.
@nascarman_rr How is there not a Whittington Brothers documentary yet? @adamcarolla
@nascarman_rr I thought the bus stop/Le Mand chicane was for insurance reasons
@nascarman_rr @S1apSh0es Like Watkins Glen before the bus stop.
