@giveashitnature I think I’ll still remove the tomato hornworms I see on my tomato plants, knowing that some get past my scrutiny. Preserving them to adulthood sounds nice, but the moth is a favorite of bats, which I also have…. The circles of life are quite interconnected.

@giveashitnature Dill, fennel, and rue are in my garden as host plants; they draw butterflies whose caterpillars devour the plants on their way to becoming new butterflies. It’s a nice relationship. Tomato hornworms, on the other hand, are unwelcome in every way. Chickens won’t even eat them.

@giveashitnature I only feed safflower seed. The cardinals and a few other small birds like it but squirrels and rats don’t. I still have a nice variety of birds in the yard, I guess to enjoy the seeds and berries on plants.

@TheHost_ I love trees. I work to be a good neighbor. The trees were here long before the new neighbors. The trees will probably be there long after you are all long gone. Neighbors, figure something else out. The trees stay.

@JuliaBramble @onlydavidcoen My dad died from NSCLC. Diagnosis to funeral was 2.5 months, so fast that I never really wrapped my mind around it. My mom’s dementia hit fast but now slowly crawls, making it hard to wrap my mind around. Maybe your parents’ decline is just…hard.
