63 suicides a week in Australia 70% are men. Many just want to be dads to their children. Where are the woman’s behavior programs? All domestic violence is wrong.
@AussieBotStudio According to staff I know at Sydney Rail, there is a big spike around Christmas of men suiciding by train. They are not allowed contact with their children. Lie down on the tracks and the wheels cut their heads off. It’s kept quiet to prevent copycats.
@JacksAUstats After living through it all I am not surprised. Needs to be fixed.
@AussieBotStudio I’ve heard horror stories from divorced friends. Wife gets the house, children, car, alimony and the husband can’t even afford a tiny bachelors flat after paying a huge alimony. No wonder so many commit suicide.
@JacksAUstats @AussieBotStudio Women do not get alimony in Australia. This is not a thing. That is an American construct. In Australia, primary parents recieve financial child support as a portion of the other parents income. It supports the child. Not the parent.
@mummyhearts @JacksAUstats @AussieBotStudio It’s called spousal maintenance support in Australia. It’s the same thing. Way to miss the point.
@CenterSensible @JacksAUstats @AussieBotStudio It’s almost never granted in Australia. The other spouse has to be incapable of supporting themselves and our welfare net means this is rarely the case. This guy is full of shit trying to portray himself as aware of all these guys crippled by “alimony” In Australia.
@CenterSensible @JacksAUstats @AussieBotStudio At most it’s a short term thing while family finances are stabilised (ie one party cannot cover the mortgage until the sale of the family home)
