It was great event today, co-hosting with USAID @USAIDGH, @WorldBank, a side-event to discuss Nigeria’s Health Sector Renewal Investment Initiative #NHSRII of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s @officialABAT Administration. We are seeking to improve population health outcomes at-scale, by defragmenting the landscape of efforts, improving efficiency and effectiveness of financing, putting equity at the center to leave no-one behind, increasing use of national systems to improve sustainability, and enhancing transparency and accountability. The sector-wide approach is on, with increasing domestic financing for health in sight. We appreciate Hon Minister of Finance and Coordinating Minister of the Economy @FinMinNigeria, Chief Wale Edun, for joining us, team spirit, and all his support. To all our key development partners, including the @USAGov , UK @FCDOGovU, Japan @jica_direct_en, Canada @CanadaDev, EU @eu_comission, BMGF @gatesfoundation, Global Financing Facility @theGFF , World Bank, Susan T Bennett Foundation @buffett_susan, Mastercard Foundation @MastercardFdn, Dangote Foundation @AlikoDangoteFdn, and new partners, we say, it is Nigeria NOW! President Tinubu offers great opportunity for impact by investing in health, human, and social capital in Nigeria now.
I wanted to write the long write-up that I usually send, but i am sure you have mentally noted me and my proposals by now. So maybe just a reminder sir, @muhammadpate , that the remaining healthcare providers giving their everything to carter for the 220 million Nigerians should not be left to bear the burden of those that have left. This is why reviewing their inhumane working hours is crucial. As for your sincere efforts and that of Mr president to upgrade the healthcare system in Nigeria by investing more on health through collaborations, i pray God help you both because God knows Nigeria needs this Now more than Ever! God bless and guide your ways sir🙏🏻
