In retrospect, maybe it wasn’t the best idea to learn about personal finance from people who feel anxious about money and build an identity around how little they spend
Naw, I'm sure it's not. After all, Mustachianism has always been about Grand, Fancy American Abundance! With just a TEENY bit of logic and science applied so you can life slightly less ridiculously than average and thus end up with a massive financial surplus and early financial freedom. (and as an unimportant side effect, save the Human Race from destroying itself due to overconsumption of its own habitat, but we don't usually talk about that part 😉)
@mrmoneymustache @jacksdigitalven @ramit @ramit is a bright guy, it's unfortunate to hear him say that a specific way to financial freedom is wrong when there are so many different ways to get to the finish line.
@mrmoneymustache Thank you for mentioning consumerism. People often confuse Capitalism with Consumerism. Consumerism is planned obsolescence, single use plastics; basically waste, which leads to pollution, and extinction. Capitalism is about profit as motivation to solving problems.
@mrmoneymustache @jacksdigitalven @ramit Boom. Fabulous reply. Made my day. ❤️
@mrmoneymustache @jacksdigitalven @ramit I don’t know where to ask this. Somewhere you wrote about the glass topped stoves giving you more counter space. Tell me, do you clean it every day? I think it’s difficult to clean- you might not- and it looks dirty so fast! What do you do to utilize the space?
@mrmoneymustache @jacksdigitalven @ramit MMM is kind and generous. I met him last year at Camp Fi Rocky Mountains. We probably talked for an hour just at the parking lot about everything but finance. It was just our first meet. It was a fanboy moment. He gave a great talk. Wish I could have recorded that.
