What’s something you learned about yourself as an artist while making this album? #EVAN: [Smiles.] There were a lot of moments where I learned so much. I was really proud and thankful to myself when I discovered that I can put together music without taking too much time. Previously, to write one song, I would take three months, even a year if on the longer side. I would overthink, and it would take a while. But now, when working on a song, if it’s quick it could be three hours, up to six hours — that’s something I learned about myself. Do you think that happened naturally through practice? 🦌: I have a lot of good colleagues around me. Those are usually the ones who grew up having their interests and talents recognized from a young age. I tend to get nervous on stage often. But some people don't get nervous at all. Of course, being nervous and trembling is likely a physical expression of one's desire to do well. However, on the other hand, you should also be able to let go of all that and just perform. So, I feel jealous when I see someone who performs what they have prepared, fully enjoying it without any tension. 💬: you’ve arrived at a new starting line, transitioning from enhypen’s heeseung to solo musician evan. right now, which feeling is stronger: excitement or worry? 🦌: both. im worried, but im excited too. still, i try not to hold on to my worries for too long. those feelings are always there to some degree, but i actually see them as a positive source of motivation 💬: ‘ride or die’ means staying with someone until the very end. It’s quite an intense title for a love song. 🦌: the message behind the phrase is incredibly powerful. that’s why i knew i had to use it. it’s also something I’ve genuinely thought about often. the starting point was seeing fans continue to support me through all kinds of experiences and changes. looking at them, i thought, “i need to take these people with me all the way to the end.”
