@EscapeStirling Yes! Players want to immediately complete something as soon as they find a piece/clue, when sometimes you need 3 pieces/clues to complete something.

Check your work! Then check it again. We’ve had #escaperoom players get legit pissed that the wire #puzzle in #Breathless didn’t give them confirmation of a solve… …and that’s because they screwed up 1 of the wires. A tiny mistake (and too much ego) can throw off your game.

You’re going to need to show a bit of urgency if you want to beat an #escaperoom. You don’t usually need to rush, but if you find yourself lounging around, you probably need to speed it up. Good rule of thumb: If you haven’t made progress in 5 minutes, ask for a hint.

We let you ask for hints 5 times in both of our #escapegames, #Breathless and #Invasion. We don’t love giving infinite hints because typically, at that point, you’ve stopped paying attention to the game environment and are relying on hints as a crutch.

What *don’t* you like in #escaperooms? Based on customer feedback, we’ve identified these game mechanics players would rather not deal with: 1) Directional locks 2) Too much darkness 3) Dexterity puzzles 4) Math 5) Riddles (because if you don’t get it, you don’t get it)

Lights in #escaperooms evoke mood and emotions. Red? Anger, fear. Blue? Calm, melancholy, or even sadness. Green, like the hue in this photo? Mystery, unease. Without compelling lighting design, you’d just be in a plain room, solving puzzles. And that’s not gonna cut it.

5 Things You *Shouldn’t* Do in an #EscapeRoom: 1) Remove ceiling tiles & climb up there 2) Use ALL of your strength to open that locked box 3) Draw dicks on walls 4) Jump off furniture 5) Remove safety covers from electric sockets and stick stuff in them

Overheard in #Breathless: “I armed the Sulfuric Acid because I thought it might cut a hole through the door.” Dude we know our tech is cool but having actual acid in an #escaperoom would maybe anger our insurance agency.
