People flipped out when it was rumored that they inquired about equity...but I have yet to hear a good case against it. 🤷♀️

@minakimes Apples and oranges. These aren’t widely owned/traded entities where you can grant equity. These are privately held companies. And let’s say you give a top pick equity ownership … and he is a bust. Then what ?
@minakimes Because there isn’t public stock that can be bought and sold easily and because NFL teams aren’t tech startups where new employees are taking risk by working there and often taking less money than big established companies. Giving players equity every year? Makes no sense
@minakimes Genuinely curious, what happens when a player with equity in the team is traded/leaves in FA? Feel like that’s where it would get interesting and could get messy.
@minakimes @LeBatardShow Maybe because you spread racism and anti white sentiment
@minakimes Is he worth an equity share? He could really easily suck in the NFL, why would a team sign themselves to that. Maybe 2nd and 3rd contract it makes sense but he hasn’t played a snap yet
@minakimes So how can you trade him in future if he has equity in the team? What happens then. Can he own part of a team and play for another?
