@JoeEmison I don't think it's stupid and use it (on occasion) but I do think it's poorly designed (happily will elaborate) and it's classic law of triviality to make it a big deal./shrug
Self-hosted Data Engineering platform "in a box"! 1. Git-versioned controlled catalog 2. Dagster/DBT for data pipelines 3. Ray substrate for distributed compute 4. Coder "templates" for role-specific dev environments, e.g. "data engineer" All running on Kubernetes in AWS EKS.
@stumasondev If you have a broken custom resource that fails to report back, there’s nothing you can do for 2 hours. You’re just stuck waiting. It could be fixed easily with a button that fails the update of that resource to trigger a rollback.
@mikepb78 @pierskarsenbarg @FilipPyrek @PulumiCorp indeed :-) wing is not tightly coupled to terraform, and we have pulumi and crossplane in the roadmap. opentofu definitely works as well. our positioning/docs need more love definitely

@FilipPyrek most attempts focused on portability - model a bucket in a way that it can be redeployed from aws to gcp obviously that ends up sucking what we’re doing isn’t anything new, it’s the same as terraform - orchestrate everything you have no matter where it is
the great thing about ion is we can compose together different providers our components work with custom domains no matter where they're hosted as simple as this - full docs in reply
