what happened to the tradition of visiting the sick? Feel like we barely do that as a community anymore
@mertesakib I don’t know how it is down south but up north that culture is live and kicking
@mertesakib To be honest, its a burden on the sick and their families if the visitors keep dropping by. The visitors have to constantly take care of the visitors and the sick cannot rest.
@mertesakib What happened to the tradition of visiting parents? Feel like southerners barely do that as a community anymore but northerners continue to do so
@mertesakib you don't change "a community" ... you change yourself.
@mertesakib When dad was first diagnosed with had a steady stream of visitors and when he was in hospital - it was non stop. The day before he died and the day of his death the house was packed. This was in E.London - think it depends on the people
@mertesakib Ngl I've noticed that even when someone passes away, for many people just a phone call seems sufficient.
@mertesakib where I’m from visiting anyone ends up being a chore for the person or they don’t want to see you when they aren’t doing their best it ends up more of a hassle for them than a source of comfort
