I had the wonderful opportunity to teach an outstanding group of @CandlerTheology students this semester. I am grateful for the opportunity and thankful for their hearts turned toward justice. G-d keep them and all students who speak for justice safe today.

I’m so proud of my students & of my colleagues who stood with them & continue to stand with them today. I am very sad to find that my students and colleagues were tear gassed, tazed, and shot with rubber bullets by law enforcement officers. I am sure no one else did this to them.

The ability to speak does not equate to the ability to communicate. ASL, AAC devices, PECS cards, pointing, writing, and body language are all valid forms of communication.
