Every time I watch a movie with a lot of different financiers that each insist on having their own elaborate company logo play at full length with sound, I think of this Family Guy bit. youtu.be/vI7JDTlixb8?si…
@mattzollerseitz The worst was always in Cannes, where each logo would provoke a different pocket of the theater to applaud, w/ companies competing to make the most noise. And that's just an awful lot of energy to carry into Clouds of Sils Maria.
@mattzollerseitz :) - yeah, some ridiculously elaborate logos for some companies. a dude shooting an arrow through like 100 axes or whatever - what? :)
@mattzollerseitz So every movie you’ve ever watched?
@mattzollerseitz I love slates though.
@mattzollerseitz A long time ago I was at a friend's house and loaded a movie DVD that had an under $20m budget, and there were six production bumpers on it. I thought that was crazy. I'm totally used to it now
@mattzollerseitz One time I timed it out on my watch, and the animated studio logos didn’t stop until a full NINETY SECONDS into the movie.
@mattzollerseitz Back in the 90s, we used to giggle at all the animated studio logos. Little did we know… Who started it here? Must have been one production company and then everyone jumped in.
@mattzollerseitz “Someone’s coming to town” is always on my mind
