Concerning Jackson Holliday - * Adley went 20 g without an RBI * Gunnar was hitting .170 last May 12 * Grayson had 7.35 ERA his first 10 MLB starts * Cowser hit .115 last year. This is NORMAL. Breathe Birdland and give it time. Team is winning as he learns/grows/develops.
@masnSteve Agreed. Are you worrried about his confidence though? Or if this is bad for his overall growth?
@masnSteve Grayson got sent down so he could work on things, Holliday may need to do the same. He doesn’t look rough, he looks overmatched. That’s my main concern. Striking out like he has is not what you want to see. Gunnar hitting .170, is better than Holliday. So is everyone listed.
@masnSteve People really that uptight about it? Geesh enjoy the ride!
Agreed 💯 Steve. Jacksons hit some ⚾️s right on the nose w nothing to show for it (lineout, flyout at the warning track). Only a matter of time for Jackson to pick up the spin of #MLB pitches! People really dont understand how difficult it is to hit a ⚾️ apparently! Sweep win today! Go Os!
@masnSteve Not concerned with 1-25, but 14 strikeouts and 1 walk in 26 PA is a HUGE red flag. The Orioles should option him to Norfolk - it's not like he could argue he deserves to stay - especially since he's not finishing 1st or 2nd in the AL ROY voting. Gain the extra year of control.
@masnSteve He's a very good player, young trying to fit in getting pitchers best stuff bc he's a 1-1 but I guarantee by end of next week he'll be crushing the ball, batting 1st or 2nd in 2 wks! Go Birds 24!
@masnSteve I went to the 4/16 game. He had a couple of misplayed balls. He made solid contact on a fly out. Good thing is, those in section 14 STILL cheered and encouraged the young man. He’ll come around. I saw him in Aberdeen and the kid has a POWERFUL bat. I’m not worried.
@masnSteve Keep him up keep him playing. He will turn: the AB he’s getting a quality, pitches on the lines so hard to say his eyes are bad it’s actually telling he’s taking not just swinging wildly
@masnSteve Both Cowser and Gray Rod were sent back down to work on things. Adley was still getting on base w/walks. Gunnar is the only anomaly here. With the talent in the pipeline waiting, let's give him April, if still overwhelmed and over matched, needs to go down to work it out.
