Variations on a Theme: Desire Three brief poems First Poem: WANTING Wanting, wanting, wanting It is inevitable Is it a mistake? I won’t admit it Until the leaves Fluttering in wind The clouds drifting White and puffy The bright blue sky Holding them up The spider in its web Sticking like glue When they admit it I will too. Second Poem: GAIN AND LOSS Thoughts in mind toss About gain or loss then I heard it … such a clear sound It held me bound It lasted until … Thoughts start to toss about gain or loss. Third Poem: EXPECTATION Expectation is a curse It keeps us wanting It’s never now Alway yet to come I’ll take it anyway I know when it’s gone I will be too. #writerscommunity #poetry
