Hmm. This is quite complicated. And gendered. Thoughts?

@marclamonthill Liberals hate the nuclear family Why?
@marclamonthill Most people in their fifties unmarried without kids seem lonely and depressed.
@marclamonthill I think we should all stop worrying about what life choices people make...including deciding what people are "likely to regret". Destiny has Jordan Peterson vibes, but in the opposite direction lol.
@marclamonthill Jones is right:
I acknowledge that "readiness" can mean a lot of things, but our current oppressive systems make our survival untenable for many, so I think this will inform "readiness" across many different intersecting identities. Capitalism, white supremacy, patriarchy and other hierarchies, problematic systems and institutions informs "readiness", particularly from a financial standpoint. I also think this question can be tied to problematic conversations around eugenics. I hear a lot of people talk about waiting until "you have a solid financial foundation" to start a family, but that's honestly a "solid financial foundation" is not accessible for many. So, that's just an unachievable pre-condition for them, and probably not a helpful goal if you want to have a family. People have had families and will continue to under difficult and conditions.
@marclamonthill People talking age but the economics loom larger. Can you afford a family? That means different things in different parts of the country. Kids can’t eat family values. Better be able to afford some diapers and formula.
@marclamonthill Im wit that statement..... ppl are very different at say 35 than 22 yrs old. Id say the child benefits from those differences
@marclamonthill I remember my mom telling my older brother after he was married that there is no perfect time to do anything You can only plan so much and then life happens
@marclamonthill So if you get married in your twenties and don’t want to have until your thirties you can in that but what will you do if you get pregnant at 28,29 or 30 days after you turn 30 ?
