using powersync actually! more like reactivity and offline than local-first. its for gitscrolls.com. so far doing good w product but the conceptual part is hard! replication lag, auth, checkpoints, sync streams and the hardest one so far: consistent != current. all understandable by themselves but hard to reason when together

Asked a friend, who works in a successful business and is heavily using AI for building things, why he would use a SaaS vs building it himself. This was his answer. Sure, you have to pick the product, so that's your liability, but that's why you pick SaaS with a good reputation.

@housecor agree with all but the resolution. its not software factories. well still work together but with clear boundaries and owners of big systems. each owner of a subsystem does whatever they want. boundaries and contracts stay in place. be it a http api, a foreign function, IPC...
