Literally every licensed professional will beg you to seek community and a support system. We are not meant to do this alone. Human beings require connection and the sooner we dispel this "you don't owe anybody anything" bullshit the sooner we can actually be human beings again.
As a person who is chronically suicidal: Your friends are not therapists. They do not have the eduction or the tools to help you and most the time can only offer an ear to listen and a comforting presence.

I think that "the only way to get yourself out of depression is through your own resilience" and "depression actively drains you of all resilience and motivation" are statements that can coexist. Yes it's so incredibly hard to live. Yes you'll just have to do it
you deserve a good life even if you never change the world. even if your story never inspires a single stranger. even if your greatest accomplishment is making it through the day. your humanity is not something you have to earn by being exceptional.
Everyone is like “I think people are allowed to do whatever they want as long as it doesn’t hurt anyone” but everyone has a problem with asexual/aromantic people, polyam people, nonbinary people, neopronouns, etc etc.
I lost years and years due to learned helplessness, one day as a slightly better well adjusted adult I realized. 1.) everything the therapists said was true, it is a science &2.) I had to admit I was in my own way for long periods of time, and I had to cope with being wrong now
you'd think there's a reason everyone who recovers from depression says you have to drag yourself out of it. feeling sorry for yourself all day and waiting for someone or something to save you will NEVER work, you actually DO have to pick yourself up and take care of yourself

There's not really a nice way to say: "you have to genuinely decide for yourself that you are tired of it and everything that makes you feel that way and decide that you need to take the action to reverse course" because most people feeling that way desperately want an "answer"
