I visited a shop to buy sampoo, and suddenly, someone threw a water balloon at a girl behind me. She was just enjoying a plate of momos. The momos got drenched, and her dress was soaked on one side. She was clearly angry and uncomfortable. She saw two kids on the balcony, 8-10 yr old boy and a 12-14 yr old girl. They were laughing! She stormed off to their house, and I don't know what happened there. When she came back, this 40 yr old bania guy started dismissing her reaction, saying they were just children. I couldn't stay quiet. I told him, 'Kids or not, they should learn some manners! Don't they have parents?" Then he started lecturing me about how kids will be kids, they should be given freedom and all that. Another Sikh guy (Jatt), a friend of the man, argued that it was just a celebration day and they shouldn't be stopped from having fun. I couldn't understand his argument and raised my voice and asked "So can anyone just throw balloons and colours at any strangers? What if the person doesn't want to play? Can you just throw ballons at someone who is eating? He couldn't defend it with logic, so got angry. Then, he even brought up my upbringing, saying my parents didn't teach me to respect elders. Can you believe the nerve? He said, 'It's nothing compared to the wild times we had back then. If we start restricting our kids during festivals, what kind of upbringing are we giving them?' I was appalled by the audacity. I just laughed and said "So even Sikhs are now celebrating holi? And defending such things? And whatever you say, I won't accept it's okay to throw balloons at random people." I told him that and left. From behind me, I could hear the Sikh man asking the Bania man, "Who's this guy? Is he her boyfriend or something?" As I was leaving, the girl noticed me and thanked me for speaking up. It's still on my mind. They're justifying everything under the guise of Holi. The normalization of it all is simply outrageous.
@lokeshbag67 Mr. Lokesh In 2017 during my visit to Delhi ( greater Kailash) one day before Holi when coming out of our Architects office, some youngsters ( 16/17 yrs) threw water balloons which fell on lower area of pant & shoes... I just saw up, they were laughing... U have to adjust
@lokeshbag67 Thus rushed a SuitBootkarite, Neobuddu knight to the rescue of a damsel in distress! Bravo!👌👏 I wish the narrative didn't sound so fake and phony, though! 😂 😂 😂
